NVIDIA plans a staggered release for its RTX 40 series, with the RTX 4070 SUPER debuting first and the RTX 4080 concluding the lineup.
ITHome consolidates various sources to provide insights into the anticipated rollout schedule for NVIDIA’s upcoming RTX 40 SUPER series.
Speculation is rife that NVIDIA will use its ‘Special Address’ at CES 2024 on January 8th to announce and provide early details about its forthcoming GeForce RTX 40 SUPER graphics cards.
This buzz has been building since NVIDIA’s confirmation of the event. Recent updates suggest that NVIDIA could unveil the first in the SUPER series just nine days following this announcement, with at least one model lined up for launch. Sources indicate that the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER is expected to be introduced on January 17th.
This will reportedly be followed a week later by the launch of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. Completing the RTX 40 SUPER series, the RTX 4080 SUPER is rumored to be available from January 31st. NVIDIA seems to be planning a staggered release for these models, spacing their launches on a weekly interval.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 SUPER dates
• RTX 40 announcement: January 8, 2024
• RTX 4070 SUPER launch: January 17, 2024
• RTX 4070 Ti SUPER launch: January 24, 2024

The upcoming RTX 4070 SUPER from NVIDIA is anticipated to feature the AD104 GPU and boast 7168 CUDA cores. It’s expected to retain the 12GB memory size of its predecessor. A notable aspect is its increased power requirement, with a supposed default TDP of 225W, surpassing that of the RTX 4070.
Shifting focus to the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, this variant is rumored to be equipped with the AD103 GPU, enhancing its memory capacity to 16GB. It maintains the 285W TDP seen in the RTX 4070 Ti, potentially making it one of the more compelling offerings in the SUPER series.
The series’ top-tier model, the RTX 4080 SUPER, is believed to utilize the full potential of the AD103 GPU, encompassing 10240 CUDA cores. It will continue to offer a 16GB memory specification and a 320W TDP, mirroring the existing RTX 4080 model. According to earlier reports, while the RTX 4080 SUPER and RTX 4070 Ti SUPER may replace current models, the RTX 4070 SUPER could coexist in the market alongside the RTX 4070.
Speculation suggests that all models in the RTX 40 SUPER series may adopt the 12VHPWR connectors, steering clear of the traditional 8-pin connectors. However, there’s still uncertainty regarding whether NVIDIA will release its own Founder Edition of these cards, as official confirmation on this detail remains pending.
