NVIDIA RTX4090D has a dedicated driver, not that you need one
The RTX 4090D may not be available yet, but NVIDIA sees no reason in postponing driver release for this new SKU.
NVIDIA has recently unveiled its latest GeForce RTX 4090D graphics card, equipped with the advanced AD102 chipset. Despite its recent introduction, specifics regarding its availability are not yet widely available. While some manufacturers have listed the new model on various retail outlets, there’s still no concrete information on when it will be in stock. At present, the RTX 4090D is mainly targeted at the Chinese market, yet there are anticipations that it will be released globally, pending compliance with U.S. export regulations.
The latest graphics driver update, version 546.34 WHQL from NVIDIA, aligns with the previously released drivers for the RTX 40 series cards. This update doesn’t introduce new optimizations or bug fixes; it continues from the mid-December driver iteration. The release notes for this update are consistent with the previous ones, indicating no changes and highlighting the driver’s compatibility with recent game releases such as The Finals and Fortnite Chapter 5.
While the latest driver update from NVIDIA does feature a new version identifier, moving from .33 to .34, it’s essential to understand that this does not extend compatibility to all graphics cards. Specifically designed for the RTX 4090D model, it is not intended for use with other RTX 40 series graphics cards. Users should refrain from installing this driver on non-supported models to avoid potential issues.
