Palit preparing three RTX 3050 6GB cards, one of them is passively cool
New StormX and KalmX series coming.
Recent discoveries have unveiled specifications for the yet-to-be-released RTX 3050 6GB models. We’ve verified these details with our sources. NVIDIA’s partner, Palit, is on track to launch its 6GB versions within this quarter. There are at least three upcoming models slated for release under the StormX series, alongside one under the KalmX series.

StormX versions have surfaced on a retailer’s website in Russia, prominently featuring 6GB on their specs sheet and introducing a product code associated with the 3050 6GB variant. Retail listings, however, show discrepancies like an incorrectly listed memory bandwidth of 224 GB/s instead of the correct 168 GB/s.
Despite the discrepancies, the base clock speed of 1042 MHz and a TDP of 115W diverge from the previously released 8GB versions. Packaging visuals display 8 GB of memory, yet the model name and product code unmistakably correspond to the new product line.
The StormX graphics card lineup is unique in utilizing the actual PCIe 4.0 x8 connector, deviating from the common 16-lane interface found in many current GPUs. While contemporary models like the RTX 4060 series possess a full-sized connector, they lack active connections for all lanes, potentially offering structural reinforcement for more robust designs. Notably, the StormX series may not require this full specification.
In the context of fanless graphics cards, it’s notable to mention Palit’s last release in this category, the GTX 1650 KalmX, which debuted in February 2020. It is unexpected that Palit has not updated this fanless lineup until now. The new 3050 specs suggest a possible power output of 115W. This contrasts with earlier speculations about the RTX 3050 6GB having a 70W thermal design power, which aligns more closely with the GTX 1650 KalmX’s 75W TDP.
The specifications presented by a Russian retailer are not without errors and inconsistencies that require confirmation. The release of the RTX 3050 6GB is anticipated in February, but exact specifications and performance metrics are yet to be validated.
