LG Display to showcase its first 27 inch gaming OLED display with 1440p resolution and 480Hz refresh rate
The company has recently finalized the creation of its innovative 27-inch QHD display featuring a 480Hz refresh rate, leveraging advanced OLED technology. This cutting-edge display is slated for its inaugural showcase at the upcoming CES 2024 event.
Utilizing OLED technology, the latest monitor from the company is set to debut as the premier QHD 480Hz gaming monitor, boasting an impressively low response time of just 0.03ms. Tailored for gaming enthusiasts, the monitor integrates OLED’s rich color output with a sharp 2560×1440 resolution, all at the highest refresh rate currently available, promising a significant impact on the gaming market.
Scheduled for release in the latter part of the year, the monitor’s first interactive demonstration will be available at CES 2024. Alongside this, the company plans to reveal a range of OLED monitors in various sizes, including 27, 31.5, 34, 39, and 45 inches, marking its ambitious entry into the premium gaming monitor segment.
In a related update, the company has also introduced the Dual-Mode 32-inch OLED monitor, which offers versatility with its 4K 240Hz and 1080p 480Hz settings, easily switchable at the user’s convenience. The 27-inch model, while smaller, boasts a superior 1440p resolution at the highest refresh rate but does not include the Dual-Mode feature.
“In our quest to remain at the forefront of the premium gaming display sector, we are committed to leveraging OLED’s standout features. These include peerless refresh rates, swift response times, and the deepest blacks, to elevate the viewing experience to unprecedented levels,”
The firm showcases a diverse lineup within the 30-inch range, offering models in both 32 and 39-inch dimensions that incorporate OLED technology, as well as ultra-wide screens. As the race heats up within the OLED gaming monitor market, numerous companies are vying for market dominance. It’s anticipated that the integration of the compact 480Hz OLED panels by additional manufacturers will occur down the line, potentially making it more accessible to budget-conscious consumers, although such a shift may not be immediate.
