New Mini PCs with Ryzen 8040 & Core Ultra 100 series
Geekom is preparing three new products for showcase at CES 2024.
Geekom is gearing up to release three new compact systems featuring the latest processors from Intel and AMD. The IT14 Pro, a Mini-PC housed in a 0.7-liter chassis, will incorporate Intel’s Core Ultra 7 155H, a 4nm CPU boasting 16 cores and 22 threads. Geekom highlights a 20% increase in multi-core performance over their previous generation systems.
Significantly, the IT14 Pro will include Intel’s new Arc graphics, promising up to 90% better performance compared to the previous Xe Iris graphics. Additionally, the system is equipped with Meteor Lake silicon, featuring a dedicated NPU unit to enhance AI workloads. These updates mark the key advancements in Geekom’s Intel-based offerings, but there’s also exciting news for their AMD range.
The A8 Max and APro8 Max systems will be powered by the AMD Ryzen 8040 “Hawk Point” CPU series, incorporating Zen4 and RDNA3 architectures. These processors were just announced this month and are slated for release in the first quarter of 2024. Consequently, Geekom’s AMD-based products are likely to hit the market following the release of their Intel counterparts.
The A8 Max model from Geekom will come with a choice of either the Ryzen 7 8840HS or Ryzen 9 8940HS processors, both equipped with 8 Zen4 cores and Radeon 780M graphics. Notably, some promotional materials reference a Ryzen 9 8940H variant, which might be a China-exclusive model, though AMD has not officially announced it yet. Like the previous Ryzen 7040 series, these chips will include integrated AI acceleration hardware, with a significant 60% speed boost in the XDNA NPU unit being a key feature of the Hawk Point series.
The APro8 Max stands out for its inclusion of the discrete Radeon RX 7600M XT graphics. According to Geekom, this GPU offers performance comparable to the GeForce RTX 4060 laptops. It’s a mid-range option, equipped with the Navi 33 GPU, featuring 2048 Stream Processors, and paired with 8GB GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit bus.
