AMD RX 7600 XT coming late January

Recent reports confirm that the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT graphics card is expected to hit the market in the latter part of January, with the rumored date being January 24. This information has been validated by Benchlife, a reputable source in the tech community. Notably, AMD has decided to forgo the production of a reference model for the RX 7600 XT and will instead be offering only custom variants through its partners. This marks a shift from AMD’s usual practice and is a nod to partner companies who have expressed a desire for greater emphasis on their custom designs.

Benchlife has indicated that the Radeon RX 7600 XT is part of AMD’s strategic product releases and is on the calendar for the specified January week. Concurrently, it is anticipated that NVIDIA will also unveil the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super.

The release of the RX 7600 XT variant comes after a considerable gap following the non-XT model’s launch. The reasoning behind AMD’s decision to delay the launch remains speculative. The graphics card segment around the $300 price point is fiercely competitive, particularly with strong offerings from the previous generation of AMD and NVIDIA cards already available.

There is also speculation about the RX 7600 XT’s possible configurations, with rumors suggesting the availability of 10GB or 12GB memory options. However, it’s still not clear which specific model AMD will settle on or whether both memory configurations will be released. It’s important to note that AMD is not expected to increase the core count in the Navi 33 GPU, which will likely retain the 2048 core configuration as seen in the RX 7600.

The upcoming AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT may feature a scaled-down version of the Navi 32 architecture, potentially leading to a reduced number of operational cores. This strategy could account for the observed postponement in the GPU’s launch timeline, following AMD’s strategy of repurposing GPUs with cores disabled after the debut of its RX 7800XT and 7700XT models, both based on the full Navi 32 design.

Additionally, sources close to Benchlife have disclosed that, as of now, AMD does not have plans to roll out non-XT versions of the Radeon RX 7800/7700 series. This information seems to contradict recent reports hinted at by filings in the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) database, suggesting that such models were in the works.
