CoolerMaster Unveils New X-Silent 1100W Fanless PSU Featuring 12VHPWR Connector for Enhanced Efficiency and Quiet Performance

1100W power supply from Cooler Master requires no fans

The company is set to announce a new power supply at CES 2024, reports Hardware&Co.

High-wattage power supplies typically come with active cooling mechanisms to manage heat. However, Cooler Master’s latest innovation disrupts this norm. The X-Silent 1100W model is a standout product, distinguished by its fanless architecture paired with a robust power capability. This combination is a pioneering move in the realm of power supplies, especially given that most fanless units are usually capped at 500-700W.

It’s important to understand that the 1100W specification doesn’t imply the unit is constantly running at maximum capacity. The actual power draw is contingent on the connected hardware’s demand. Despite this, it’s imperative that the power supply is engineered to handle occasional surges that exceed the average power consumption. The efficiency and performance metrics for the Cooler Master X-Silent 1100W are pending, awaiting official confirmation from the company.

Based on recent visual information, it’s evident that Cooler Master’s new PSU is designed to cater to the latest technological demands. It’s expected to come equipped with a 12VHPWR connector specifically for the latest GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs, indicating its readiness for high-end gaming setups. Additionally, the power supply is set to offer USB and PMBUS interfaces for advanced power management, alongside eight 6+2 pin connectors for PCIe/CPU requirements and four SATA connectors to support a wide range of peripheral devices. The PSU’s fully modular design enhances customization and cable management for builders.

Cooler Master isn’t stopping there; they’re also poised to release two more power supply units: the Edge Platinum 850 and the Max Platinum 1300. While both promise high efficiency, the latter is notable for its active cooling feature which is designed to operate specifically when the system is under significant load.

The X-Silent PSU is set to make its debut at the 2024 CES event. Details regarding the full specifications, cost, and availability will be officially disclosed by Cooler Master at that time. Consumers are advised to anticipate a premium price tag for this advanced PSU, in line with its high-end features.
