ASUS RTX 4080 SUPER has been leaked, features 16-pin power connector
ASUS is gearing up for the release of a DUAL OC model based on NVIDIA’s upcoming RTX 4070 SUPER series. A leaked image of this new card has surfaced on the X platform courtesy of @momomo_us.
The RTX 4070 SUPER is poised to be the most intriguing SUPER card slated for launch next month. Equipped with the AD104-350 GPU boasting 7168 CUDA cores, the card has now been officially confirmed to sport 12 GB of memory, maintaining the exact configuration of its predecessor.
The design of the new graphics card is reminiscent of the RTX 4070 DUAL model, yet there are noticeable alterations. The SUPER model is distinctively slimmer and slightly more compact in size. Interestingly, despite its higher power requirement (225W compared to the previous 200W), the SUPER version maintains a more streamlined profile. A significant feature revealed by the recent leak is the inclusion of a 12VHWPR power connector in the 4070 SUPER, a departure from the 8-pin connector used in its predecessor. This change indicates a shift in power connectivity standards for the newer model.
Reports indicate that NVIDIA plans to introduce its RTX 40 SUPER series in January 2024, with the 4070 SUPER being the initial offering. It’s anticipated that NVIDIA will present this new line during CES 2024 in their Special Address livestream. Following this, partner companies are likely to unveil their own versions of the design. The 4070 SUPER is expected to hit the market on January 17, marking its entry as the first available card in this eagerly awaited series.
