AMD RX 7600 XT will not see a global launch
Graphics cards tailored for specific regions often make headlines, but it’s not every day that we see a notable model being held back from a major market. The Radeon RX 7600 XT, a card that’s been generating buzz for its 16GB memory, was notably absent from the shelves in China during its global launch. This decision seems influenced by the existing popularity of the Radeon RX 6750 GRE series, which has a special edition known as the Golden Rabbit Edition that’s been a China exclusive.
While the RX 7600 XT’s no-show in China might suggest a snub, it’s more a strategic delay to synchronize with market demands. With the RX 6750 GRE 12GB and RX 6750 GRE 10GB models competitively priced at $289 and $269, the RX 7600 XT, predicted to be priced around $300, could stir up the market dynamics.
AMD’s strategy here could be seen as cautious, as they have yet to announce the official pricing for their RDNA3 GPU. Given the competitive nature of the GPU market, especially in the mid-range segment, AMD appears to be balancing the introduction of new tech while gradually phasing out older models. The RDNA2 models, which are currently being edged out, could potentially clash with the new release, prompting this tactical rollout.
It has been shared by industry sources that the Radeon RX 7600 XT, boasting a substantial 16GB of memory, won’t hit the Chinese market just yet. The current preference in AMD’s China portfolio is the Radeon RX 6750 GRE, known for its cost-efficiency. In light of this, AMD has opted to postpone the release of the RX 7600 XT 16GB model within China. As for when we can expect the Radeon RX 7600 XT 16GB to become available, the details are still in flux.
In the competitive landscape of the Chinese GPU market, the Radeon RX 6750 GRE stands out for its value, delivering a compelling balance of performance and memory, akin to the GeForce RTX 4060 series. Although the RDNA2 series may have a higher power demand, it doesn’t detract from the appeal of the RX 6750 GRE for mid-range gamers, especially considering its power efficiency and ray tracing capabilities.
The original schedule for the Radeon RX 7600 XT suggested a January launch, targeted for the month’s final week. Nonetheless, the postponement of its availability in China has cast a shadow of uncertainty over this timeline. Benchlife hints at the possibility of a revised release date, prompting close monitoring of the situation. Updates will be shared as fresh details emerge.
