Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, which was released on November 10, 2023, has received an update that introduces support for cutting-edge gaming technology from AMD. Upon its launch, owners of GeForce RTX 40 graphics cards gained immediate access to frame generation technology through NVIDIA DLSS 3 with Frame Generation. Additionally, the game also offered support for AMD FSR 2.1 and Intel XeSS 1.2 upscaling algorithms right from day one. COD MW3 enjoyed robust support from all major hardware vendors; however, the exclusive access to Frame Generation was limited to GeForce RTX 40 users until recently.
Activision has now rolled out a new update for COD MW3 and Warzone, ushering in support for AMD FSR3, complete with its frame generation capabilities. With this update, gamers now have the freedom to choose whether to enable Frame Generation and select their preferred FSR3 profile.
It’s important to inform our readers that AMD provides different hardware recommendations for FSR3, an upscaling technology, and Frame Generation, which is a part of the FSR3 software package. For Frame Generation, AMD suggests using at least Radeon RX 5000/6000 or GeForce RTX 20/30 graphics cards. On the other hand, FSR3 is already supported by Radeon RX 590 or GeForce GTX 10 series cards.
Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that the list of supported games was recently updated to include MotorCubs RC. Interestingly, this game made a leap from FSR 1.0 to FSR 3.0, completely bypassing FSR 2.0. Currently, there are a total of six titles in the FSR3 games list, and more titles are expected to be added soon.
AMD FSR3 Games
- Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
- Forspoken
- Immortals of Aveum
- Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name
- MotorCubs RC
- Call of Duty Modern Warfare III & Warzone
Gamers can anticipate the arrival of AMD’s Fluid Motion Frames technology as part of the HYPR-RX release on January 24th. Unlike FSR3, AFMF (Fluid Motion Frames) doesn’t necessitate game developer integration. However, it’s important to note that while FSR3 enjoys support from third-party GPU vendors, HYPR-RX can only be enabled on AMD hardware.
