Razer's upcoming Blade 16 and Blade 18 laptops will have impressive displays

The Blade 16 will sport a 16-inch OLED 240 Hz display and the Blade 18 an 18-inch 4K 265Hz display.

Razer has unveiled notable advancements in display technology for its forthcoming gaming laptops. The Blade 16 will be equipped with the first-ever 16-inch OLED screen offering a 240Hz refresh rate, while the Blade 18 will feature a pioneering 18-inch display with 4K resolution at 165Hz.

The Blade 16’s screen will have a resolution of 2560×1600, a rapid 0.2ms response time, and the distinction of being the first laptop to achieve VESA Certified Clear MR 11000 status.

Ahead of CES 2024, Razer has offered a sneak peek into the display technologies of its soon-to-be-released Blade 16 and Blade 18 gaming laptops, hinting at some exciting features. The Blade 16 is set to feature an industry-first OLED 240Hz 16-inch display, while the Blade 18 will boast an unprecedented 18-inch 4K display with a 165Hz refresh rate.

Details are expected to be more comprehensive next week at CES, but the Blade 16 is already generating buzz. This model’s OLED screen is a result of a collaboration between Razer and Samsung Display, offering a 2560×1600 resolution, a swift 0.2ms response time, and a remarkable 1 million to 1 contrast ratio. It’s also notable for being the first laptop to receive the VESA Certified Clear MR 11000 designation and meets the VESA Display HDR True Black 500 standards.

The Blade 18, the larger of the two, is not far behind in terms of impressive features. It will provide a 4K resolution for enhanced detail, a 165Hz refresh rate for smoother gameplay, and a 3ms response time to minimize screen tearing. The color accuracy is remarkable too, with the ability to cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color space. This is a step up from previous models that peaked at a QHD+ 240Hz resolution display.

While Razer hasn’t disclosed the CPUs for these laptops, it did shed light on their design aspects. Both models are constructed with CNC aluminum unibody frames and offer up to an 89% screen-to-body ratio, emphasizing sleekness and durability.

We’re eagerly anticipating further details on the updated Blade 16 and Blade 18 models. These laptops will be displayed at the Razer Booth, located in the Central Hall at Booth #1505.
